In this video, I'm sharing my thoughts on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). I'll explain why I'm not a fan of VR and why I believe AR is our near future. I'll also share my vision for AR glasses and how I think they should work.
First of all, we will talk about VR. While it's a cool technology and great for games, I have some concerns about using it for work. I've seen videos about VR that talk about the metaverse and how cool it is to have a virtual office, but I don't get the point. You have to sit in a chair connected to a headset through wires because it can't last all day without charging. I don't see the point of putting our real life into a virtual world. We still don't know the long-term effects on our eyes, head, and brain, so we should think before diving deeper into this technology.
Then we will talk about AR. I see AR glasses as the future. They should be controlled with voice and gestures, and have interchangeable lenses so people can adjust their "graphic settings." The AR UI should be as invisible as possible and only help you when you need it. For example, you should be able to focus somewhere and take a photo without seeing a full UI. You should also be able to ask for the time or information about a product, and have it pop up for a few seconds. AR should also allow you to paint or rate a product just by thinking about it.
So that's my take on VR and AR. I believe AR glasses have the potential to make our lives easier and more convenient, without the need to immerse ourselves in a virtual world. I hope you enjoyed this video and learned something new. Let me know your thoughts on VR and AR in the comments below.
